Introduction to Meditation workshop

This workshop is for the beginning meditator.  It will provide you a good overview and insight into meditation practice as well as many guided meditation sessions.

This workshop will help you to learn how to establish and sustain a daily meditation practice.

Seated, reclining, standing and walking meditations among others will be covered during the workshop.

Helen Fong has been practicing meditation for many years. She has received extensive training at the Shambala centre among others.

She will be offering a six week workshop at Sunrise Yoga Studio to introduce you to meditation.

No prior or experience in mediation is required to come and benefit from this workshop.

Course outline
These aspects of meditation will covered over the six weeks:

  • meditation and the breath
  • meditation and the body
  • meditation and the emotions
  • meditation and the thinking
  • meditation and the mind
  • meditation and daily life

Session outline

  • Each session will start with a brief 15 minute asana practice.
  • This will be followed by  training on a particular aspect of meditation.
  • Questions and answer time

Cost:

The workshop will cost $50 for the six weeks. We need a minimum of 8 people in order for this workshop to proceed.

Schedule:

The workshop will be on Sundays from 5:15 to 6:15 pm.

Jack teaches Tai Chi & Qigong in Dartmouth NS. He teaches class via Zoom and in person. In person classes are at North Woodside Community Centre as well as outdoors. Jack also teaches at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM). He teaches the students how to include Qigong in their Acupuncture practice.
