Deepak Chopra's "Perfect Health"

In “Perfect Health” Chopra explains how Ayurvedic medicine can help people acheive perfect health and bring the body to homeostasis.

Ayurvedic medicine is a system of medicine that originated in India several thousand years ago.  The term Ayurveda combines two Sanskrit words: ayur which means life, and veda, which means science of knowledge.  Ayurveda means “the science of life.”

Deepak Chopra makes sense of this ancient practice that covers many topics related to overall health.  Although he is an MD  Chopra has a way of explaining this sometimes complex practice in a way that makes it very accessable to the everyday person.

In “Perfect Health” we get a glimpse of the many ways that we can apply the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda to improve our lives.  Ayurveda lays out the foods that work best to bring each dosha into balance, which exercise is best, even how much sleep our bodies need.  This book is the perfect “starter” book to begin the exploration of Ayurveda.
