Jack Godfrey

I have practiced Ashtanga Yoga intensively since 1998 and yoga in general since 1968. I have taken a 40 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training with David Swenson and have completed weekend and week long workshops with Beryl Bender Birch, David Swenson, Darby, Hart Lazer, Allison Ulan, Tim Miller, Manji Jois, Patabhi Jois and others. I have received a 200 hour certification in Hatha Vinyasa Yoga in Halifax, Nova Scotia at Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio. I continue to study Asanas, Sanskrit, Anatomy, Yoga Philosophy and Meditation.

My approach to teaching is to include some humor in each class and help students explore yoga poses more completely with safety and insight. For me, yoga provides a means to maintain and improve the health and flexibility of the body, reduce stress and calm the mind.

I have been teaching yoga since 2000 and I am currently teaching Ashtanga yoga exclusively at Sunrise Yoga Studio.
