What I would like you to know about me.
I graduated from a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program in 2010. I have taken workshops in both Ashtanga and Yin Yoga.
My Favourite Quote
Let Go and Let God. I don’t know who said it first, but whenever I apply this adage to my own life, things seem to work out for the better, especially lately.
My Favourite Yoga Pose
My favourite yoga pose is Pigeon Pose. I love hip openers. It feels so good to release into this pose and just breath into my hips.
Before I go to bed at night, I like to do supported Fish and Legs up the Wall. There’s no exertion, just an opening up of the body and a calming of the nervous system. A perfect way to end the day.
Why I love Yoga
I started yoga as a child, but once I was an adult, I started doing other forms of exercise like running and weightlifting. As I got older, these activities took a toll on my body and I developed chronic injuries. About 10 years ago, I decided to try yoga again as a way to
keep active when I was nursing an injury. When I started to do yoga on a regular basis and started the breath work that goes along with yoga, I found it kept my body energized but quieted my mind and relieved my stress.
Last year, I decided to leave my stressful job behind to become a yoga teacher. I truly believe there is a yoga practice for everybody and that everybody receives some benefit from practicing yoga.
Last but not Least
I am truly blessed to be able to do something I love and to feel I am helping others. I have the support of my wonderful husband George throughout this transition. We just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary.
